SYNOPSIS
"Megara," one of the most significant documentaries in contemporary Greek cinema, records one of the country's most serious ecological disasters. In 1973, the government decided to expropriate vast agricultural land with majestic olive trees to build an oil refinery. The rightful rebellion of the residents of Megara, who stood up for their land and olive trees, transformed into one of the first mass protests against the military junta.
Sakis Maniatis (1944)
Messini’de doğdu. Görüntü Yönetmeni, yönetmen ve kurgucu. “I Mani” (1975), “Megara” (1974), “O varonos” (1996) gibi filmleriyle tanınır.
Yorgos Tsemberopoulos (1950)
Atina’da doğdu, Atina Ekonomi ve İşletme Üniversitesi’nde Ekonomi okurken fotoğrafa merak sardı. Ardından Los Angeles’taki American Film Institute’de yönetmenlik eğitimi aldı. Yönetmenliğini yaptığı filmler arasında, “Xafnikos erotas” (1984), “Piso porta” (2000), “O ehthros mou” (2013) yer almaktadır.
