SYNOPSIS
In the 1950s, illegal constructions began to appear on the highest summit of the Tourkovounia hill in Athens. These structures were established by migrant families coming from different regions of the country in search of a place they could call home.
Lefteris Xanthopoulos (1945-2020)
He was born in Athens. He studied law and cinema. He graduated from London Film School. With the short film trilogy about immigration, “La communauté grecque à Heidelberg” (1976), “Jorgos de Sotirianika” (1978) and “A Athènes aujourd’hui”, he received awards from several festivals. In 1985, he received an award in Locarno with his first feature film “Bon retour au pays, camarade”. He has also worked in various television projects.
