A foolish love

In present-day Athens, a city dominated by Americanized behaviours and life-styles, a young man aged about 20 lives with his widowed mother in one of the countless nondescript apartments lost in the great concrete jungle of the city. He wants to study astronomy at the University, and spends most of his time scrutinising the stars and the surrounding world through an ancient telescope. On the other side of the wide avenue lives Stella with her husband and daughter. Trapped in the dull routine of a meaningless marriage devoid of joy or pleasure, she feels her youth slipping away and grey middle-age creeping up on her. Haris falls in love with her, but what are the prospects for love in this city?
